Jira Notes Column is a Chrome extension developed to add personal notes to Jira issue list views. This privacy policy explains how your data is handled when using this extension.

Information Collection

This extension may store notes either locally in your browser (using Chrome’s storage API) or optionally sync them to a remote server for backup and accessibility across devices. If server sync is enabled, note content is transmitted securely to the server, but no personal identifying information is collected or shared.

Permissions

• storage: To save your notes locally or sync them if enabled.
• tabs: To retrieve information about the current Jira tab for context-aware note handling.
• activeTab: To interact with the currently focused tab for inserting and managing the notes column.
• scripting: To inject scripts required to modify the Jira interface and display notes.
• host permissions: Required to operate on Jira domains (e.g., https://*.atlassian.net/*) where notes are displayed.

Third-Party Services

If note syncing is enabled, your note content is sent to a backend server controlled by the developer. This is used solely for storing and retrieving your personal notes. No external analytics, advertising networks, or third-party services are integrated.

Security

All communication with the backend server (if used) is encrypted using HTTPS to protect your note content during transmission.

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes will be posted here and are effective immediately upon posting.
